Excellence in Advertising Competition

2010 Ad Contest

We will begin accepting entries for the ANA 2010 Excellence in Advertising competition in February of 2010. We anticipate using the same online contest entry system as we did in 2009, so be sure to start saving .PDFs of your best ads.

Newspaper of the Year

The Arizona Newspapers Association determines the Newspaper of the Year by adding up the point from the Excellence in Advertising contest along with the Better Newspapers Contest. The daily newspaper and the non-daily newspaper with the most points are awarded the title of "Newspaper of the Year". Winners are listed in the BNC press release.

Awards Calendar

Newspaper of the Year
To be considered for this award, newspapers must enter BOTH the Excellence in Advertising competition and the Better Newspapers Contest. Winners are announced at the BNC awards ceremony.

Excellence in Advertising
Usually held in the spring with an awards ceremony in April or May.

Better Newspapers Contest
Held in the summer and fall. Awards ceremony concludes the Fall Convention in September or October.

FOI Awards
Nominations are accepted every year. ANA Freedom of Information awards are presented either in conjunction with the Zenger Award or the Hall of Fame awards.

Zenger Award
The Zenger award is presented by the University of Arizona every other year (odd-numbered years), usually as a luncheon or dinner that is part of our Fall Convention.
